Thornblade Golf Club contracted SeamonWhiteside to assess a stream bank improvement project along a section of Brushy Creek that intersects the golf course. The bank improvement project involved grading the left bank (looking downstream) at a 3:1 slope to tie into the existing grade, except for areas where there is existing stormwater infrastructure or trees present. A small section of the right bank was graded at approximately 2.5:1 slope to tie into the existing grade. The project entailed stabilizing a total of approximately 1,539 linear feet of stream banks. The primary bank stabilization design consisted of sloping banks, rock toe, riprap, soil lifts, and Flexamat concrete matting.
