Class 'A' Office Building
SW+ provided master planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, permit coordination, and construction administration for the 5-story office building located at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, SC. The new commercial building is part of the 18-acre Ferry Wharf development at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge.
The project location created myriad challenges for the SW+ team. Proximity to the critical line and active shellfish beds required design and engineering solutions sensitive to environmental impacts, especially water quality. SW+ approach to the the site effectively addressed the heightened interest of local, state, and Federal regulatory agencies through careful planning and execution of the design and engineering.
Portside is the first occupied space to be completed on the Ferry Wharf development. Outdoor gathering spaces, a boardwalk, and native landscape compliment the office building and provide employees and visitors access to the extraordinary views of the Cooper River, the Ravenel Bridge, and the downtown Charleston skyline.
