The Nexton Northeast Village regional pump station was designed and permitted to serve approximately 70% of the Nexton development located in Berkeley County. The pump station was designed as a triplex submersible pump station with a single pump designed to handle average daily flows up to 1,300 GPM using a variable frequency drive. The average daily fow pump is supplemented with two constant speed alternating peak pumps, each with a capacity of approximately 2,250 GPM. In total, the pump station has a peak capacity of approximately 5,800 GPM. Influent wastewater enters the 12-foot by 20-foot rectangular wet well via side flow to minimize space. Baffles and pump bays were designed per Hydraulic Institute (HI) standards to straighten flows and minimize potential vortices. A 16-inch DR-25 C900 PVC force main was designed manifold to an existing BCWS 16-inch force main approximately 7,000 linear feet away.
