Mixson is an award-winning mixed use residential development located in the Park Circle area of North Charleston, SC. SeamonWhiteside has been working with the development team since the project’s outset in 2007. Early in Mixson’s conception, SW+ staff facilitated a multi-day design charrette for the team to refine the master plan vision and specify how best to incorporate the natural attributes of the site into the neighborhood while working within city and county regulatory guidelines.
SW+ has provided comprehensive design and development services for the single-family and multi-family residential components as well as site civil design, stormwater planning, utilities planning, permit coordination, landscape architecture and land planning, and construction administration. Additionally, SeamonWhiteside provided civil engineering services for the Mixson Club and portions of the retail district.
Mixson was awarded the 2008 Congress for the New Urbanism Charter Award.
