The Credit One Stadium is an iconic example of the value and success of Public/Private project development. The stadium was developed in 2001 through a collaboration between the Family Circle Cup Foundation and the City of Charleston. At the time, the facility featured clay tennis courts, hard courts, clubhouse, a grand lawn, walking and biking trails, a hospitality grove, a pedestrian boardwalk, and brick plazas. Credit One Stadium was presented an Outstanding Facilities Award by the US Tennis Association and was named “the finest public tennis facility in America” by Tennis Industry Magazine in their Fall 2001 issue.
When the facility needed renovations in 2020, SW+ was again part of the team tasked with transforming the existing spaces to better serve its current users. The 167,093 SF Stadium was renovated into a 771,000 SF arena with premium locker rooms, physical therapy and exercise spaces, catering and food prep areas, media and production rooms and a first of its kind steel cantilever canopy system.
